About Above the Rest Fence
Above the Rest Fence is a fence and gate company in Indianapolis, Indiana. We build and repair fences and gates for homes and for businesses — the same crew for a backyard privacy fence and a warehouse perimeter.
The work spans the whole list: wood, vinyl, aluminum, chain link, composite, privacy and pool fences for homes; chain link, aluminum, ornamental, vinyl and security fencing for businesses; custom gates and gate automation; agricultural, temporary and athletic fencing; outdoor railings; columns and masonry; and fence repair. If it is a fence or a gate in central Indiana, we likely build it.
We work within about 50 miles of Indianapolis 46256, on the northeast side of the city. Estimates are free. Financing is available through Hearth. We are a BBB Accredited Business, and we are open weekdays, 9 to 5.
Fence rules change from one central Indiana town to the next. Some require a permit, some do not, and the height limits differ. We tell people straight what applies where they live instead of pretending it is all the same.
How we handle the rules
Know your line. A fence goes on your side of the property line. We do not survey or mark lines — in Indiana only a licensed professional surveyor may. Get your corners marked first.
Call 811. Indiana requires notice to Indiana 811 at least two full working days before digging so buried utilities can be marked.
Know your town's rules. Some towns require a fence permit and some do not, and height limits differ. An HOA's rules stack on top of the town's.
